Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the hours of the daycare?
A: 6:45AM to 4:30PM
Q: What benefits do I receive from choosing a licensed provider?
A: By choosing a licensed daycare provider, there is a guarantee that all safety & health regulations have been met & that the provider has been educated in meeting the physical, social and emotional needs of children.
Q: How many children attend Tenderheart?
A: Pam is a licensed large family daycare provider, which means that the EEC (Early Education and Care) has given Pam permission to care for ten children with a certified assistant. However, we are in the process of downsizing from ten to six children with an EEC certified teacher/assistant.
Q: What are the ages of the children at Tenderheart?
A: The children are 3 and 4 year olds; most are graduating to kindergarten in 2015.
Q: Does Tenderheart offer part-time care?
A: Tenderheart Daycare offers full and part-time care.
Q: Is food provided or do I bring meals and snacks for my child?
A: Healthy nutrition is very important for happy children. Tenderheart offers quality meals and snacks monitored by Provider’s Food Program. We offer variety and encourage the children to try new foods.
Q: Does the daycare close for snow days?
A: No, the daycare stays open. If we lose electricity, we have a generator.
Q: Do I need to pay for my child’s sick time?
A: You are responsible to pay for time lost due to your child’s illness (or any personal time). If the daycare is open and your child stays home for any reason, you are responsible to pay for the time lost.
Q: Do you have a curriculum?
A: Yes, we use Essentials Preschool Curriculum by Gospel Publishing House, Springfield, MO.
Q: How does Essentials Preschool Curriculum stand out from the rest?
A: We feel that this curriruclum:
*Focuses on character development through one social/emotional issue each theme.
*Clearly charts and reinforces skills needed for kindergarten.
*Provides opportunities for hands-on learning, play, repetition, and practice.
*Teaches basic concepts in each theme: Letters, shapes, numbers,
ordinal numbers, and colors.
*Explores Bible stories through the senses: Each Bible story is taught using five activities that focus on the senses.
*Teaches core subjects through a circle time: math, language, social studies and science.
*Provides opportunities for learning through play. While playing, children physically develop their muscles and dexterity; mentally build concentration, imagination, and creativity; emotionally develop compassion and caring; socially boost language skills, sharing, and self-esteem; and spiritual learn how to love God and others.

We ask for a spare set of clothes, extra underwear for the children in the process of potty training and Tylenol or Ibuprophen, along with a signed permission slip with dose information. A blanket or stuffed animal for the child’s cot is optional.
